Nigeria records 418 new COVID-19 cases

BREAKING: NCDC confirms 114 new cases of COVID-19 as toll hits 1095

As the battle against Coronavirus continues, Nigeria has recorded 418 new cases of the deadly virus in 15 ststes and the federal capital territory, Abuja.

This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) via its daily update on Sunday, December 13.

According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, Lagos recorded 113 new cases, the highest for the day. Other states with new cases include FCT-86, Abia-47, Kaduna-39, Rivers-27, Katsina-22, Benue-14,Oyo-13, Kano-12, Enugu-8, Edo-7, Imo-7, Bauchi-6, Ebonyi-6, Ogun-6, Ondo-4, and Nasarawa-1.

Nigeria now has a total of 73,175 confirmed cases. 66,090 patients have been discharged so far with 1,197 deaths recorded.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that following the out break of COVID-19 during the recently aborted 2020 Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference, at least 18 top generals of the Nigerian Army have tested positive for the dreaded corona virus.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that the top military officers were all confirmed to have participated in the annual conference which held in Abuja before it was shut down after an officer attending the meeting tested positive to the virus.

The fresh development was confirmed to Channels TV on Sunday and are understood to have contracted the virus from late Major General Olu Irefin.
