on Wednesday, January 13, the Eko club event center in Surulere was sealed by Lagos state government for complete disregard and violation of COVID19 protocols.
According to Gawat Jubril, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Lagos State on New Media, the center was sealed for holding a funeral event.
Photos from the event shared online showed that the funeral was held with hundreds of people in attendance.
The funeral was held in total disregard of COVID19 protocols such as social distancing. Sharing the photos of the sealed event center, the SSA to the Governor wrote;
”Lagos State Safety Commission and the Lagos State Task Force in a joint enforcement exercise, SEALED the Eko Club event centre in Surulere for complete disregard of Covid19 protocols at a funeral event which was held recently at the event centre.”
