A 63-year-old grandfather identified as Sunday Igbinokhuaihe, has been arrested by men of the Nigeria Police Force Edo state command for raping a 2-year-old girl.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the rape took place at Urhonigbe in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo state, with the suspect being a neighbour to the parents of the victim.
WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that Igbinokhuaihe lured the little girl into his room with a loaf of bread, while using his finger to break her hymen, at a time the victim’s mother was preparing dinner in the kitchen for members of her family.
The mother was shocked when her daughter screamed when she was bathing her in the evening of the same day, with the victim opening up on what earlier transpired, making her mother to raise the alarm.
A report was lodged at the Urhonigbe police station, leading to the suspect’s arrest and later transfer to Abudu divisional police headquarters.
Igbinokhuaihe was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of
Police spokesman Chidi Nwabuzor confirmed the arrest of the suspect.
