Alhaji Lateef Jakande, the first Executive Governor of Lagos State is dead.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the former Minister of Works lost his life on Thursday morning in Lagos at the age of 91.
Jakande was a former journalist who became governor of Lagos State in Nigeria from 1979 to 1983, and later was Minister of Works under the Sani Abacha military regime (1993–98).
As at the time of filing this report, the details of his burial and other details surrounding his death have not been ascertained.
Meanwhile, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has also announced the death of the former governor of the state on his official Twitter account.
