The Nigerian Army on Tuesday, January 6, launched recruitment for the Direct Short Service Commission and declared free applications open from Wednesday, January 7, to Wednesday, February 4.
According to the notice, eligibility criteria include age, education, medical fitness, and being open to civilians and serving military personnel.
It further added that various professional fields such as engineering, signals, medical corps, and education corps are available via online application.
ELIGIBILITY CHECK
Interested applicant must be within the age brackets of 20 – 32 years for civilians and 25 – 40 years for medical consultants.
Interested applicant must graduate with a Second Class Upper in First Degree or Upper Credit (HND).
Interested applicant must be of height 1.68m for males, 1.65m for females.
Interested applicant must be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
Interested applicant must be medically, mentally, and physically fit.
ESSENTIAL AND REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Interested applicant must have a passport photograph.
He or she must be in possession of academic certificates.
He or she must be in possession of birth certificate or age declaration document.
He or she must be in possession of National Identity Number (NIN) or Bank Verification Number (BVN).
He or she must be in possession of NYSC discharge certificate or exemption certificate.
APPLICATION PROCESS?
Interested applicant should visit the Nigerian Army recruitment portal (recruitment.army.mil.ng).
He or she should create an account by logging into the portal.
He or she should fill out the online form and upload required documents.
He or she should print application and guarantor forms.
He or she should submit forms to designated recruitment centers.

ATTESTATION FORMS?
Interested applicant should print out the acknowledgement slip and other required forms after submission.
Interested applicant should also print attestation form which must be signed by a Military Officer (not below Lieutenant Colonel rank) or Local Government Chairman or Secretary of Assistant Commissioner of Police (or above).
Interested applicant should print Local Government Indigeneship form and Parent/Guardian Consent form
