The Nigeria Police Force has released detailed guidelines on the documents and materials expected from candidates for the 2026 Police Constable screening exercise.

The recruitment body stated that all shortlisted applicants must present specific forms and credentials at their assigned screening centres as part of the verification process.

The notice explained that each candidate is required to bring a completed guarantors form as part of the mandatory documentation for identity confirmation.

It added that applicants must also present their application submission slip and invitation slip issued during the recruitment process.

The police said the credentials screening form and the physical screening form are also essential documents that must be submitted for assessment.

According to the guidelines, candidates are expected to appear at the screening venue with the invitation slip that clearly shows their assigned verification table.

The directive further noted that the credentials screening form must be presented alongside the original National Identity Number printout or the card issued by the National Identity Management Commission.

The police listed the O’ level certificate such as GCE or SSCE as part of the academic requirements that must be provided in original form.

It also stated that a valid birth certificate or a declaration of age is required for age verification during the exercise.

Applicants are equally required to present a certificate of local government or state of origin as part of the documentation process.

For candidates applying under specialist categories, the police said a trade test certificate must be included among the submitted documents.

The guidelines added that the guarantors form must be properly filled, signed, and accompanied by photocopies and passport photographs of the referees.

The force further directed that original and duplicate copies of all credentials must be neatly arranged in two separate white flat files with recent passport photographs attached.

On dress code, the police instructed all candidates to report to the screening venue wearing white canvas shoes, white T-shirts, white shorts, and white stockings for uniformity during physical checks.

The statement noted that the screening exercise will hold at approved centres across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, as indicated on each applicant’s invitation slip.

It emphasised that strict adherence to the listed requirements and instructions is mandatory for all candidates to avoid disqualification at any stage of the screening process.
