As Nigerians continue to stay at home due to the rising case of the novel coronavirus, with governments both federal and state providing some means of palliatives to its citizens as a way of encouraging the stay at home directive, a photo has surfaced online and is fast going viral – showing the palliatives provided by Governor Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state.

According to online reports, the Enugu state government has distributed noddles and paracetamol as palliatives. In this current coronavirus pandemic situation, state governments, organizations, and individuals have been up and about to ensure that no one dies of hunger.

Well, in the spirit of provision, the Enugu state government have decided to distribute three sachets of noodles and two cards of paracetamol to some households in the state.

As commendable as it is that the state shows concern for its citizens, some Nigerians have taken to social media to express their displeasure upon receiving such items as palliatives with one common question popping up- how can a family be expected to feed on few sachets of instant noodles? The addition of the paracetamol though thoughtful sends a slight message of mockery to the less privileged.
