The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, lashed out at the spokesperson of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign and former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, at the Arise TV town hall meeting on Sunday night.

The brouhaha started after Dino Melaye kept describing Obi’s supporters as ‘noisemakers’ and also continued to interrupt his speech with snide remarks and gestures.

The former governor of Anambra State who could no longer tolerate the PDP presidential campaign spokesperson’s actions, angrily confronted him publicly, while also pointing out that Dino Melaye was lumping supporters of other parties with his side remarks at the Arise TV town hall meeting.

The presidential town hall series is an initiative of Arise Television and the Centre for Democracy and Development.

The candidates in attendance were Peter Obi, the flagbearer of the Labour Party; Rabiu Kwakwanso, presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, and Kola Abiola, the standard bearer of the Peoples Redemption Party.

Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta state governor and vice-presidential candidate of the PDP, was in attendance to represent the party’s flagbearer.
