Desmond Elliot

Desmond Elliot, a Nollywood actor turned politician, has declared that he is also from the eastern part of Nigeria while canvassing votes for the state Assembly election.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing the Surulere constituency, who is running for re-election, was seen canvassing votes in a church.

Desmond abruptly began speaking in Igbo while addressing the congregation.

The lawmaker stated that he was partially Igbo because of his mother and that this cannot be taken away from him.

Many mocked Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi during the campaign for his frequent visits to churches.

Speaking about Peter Obi’s victory in Lagos, Governor Sanwo-Olu stated that the All Progressives Congress (APCMuslim-Muslim )’s ticket at the national level harmed the party at the state level due to the largely Christian population.

Many politicians are now going to churches to appease and solicit votes from Christians in the upcoming election.
