His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, has reacted to reports regarding his wife, Olori Sekinat, who was rumoured to be facing a life-threatening situation.
The news, initially circulated by blogger Cutie Julls, claimed that the wife of the king was struggling for her life abroad after undergoing a BBL surgery that did not go as planned.
The blog mentioned that “One of the very famous Kabiyesi’s Olori” was in critical condition in an undisclosed location.
It was speculated that the reference was to Olori Sekinat, as she is well-known. Cutie Julls added that inside sources from the palace confirmed the situation and requested prayers for the royal family during this challenging time.
In response to these rumours, the royal family released a press statement on Monday, 8th May categorizing the allegations as baseless fabrications. The statement clarified that the senior wife of the monarch is in good health and actively fulfilling her royal responsibilities. The palace expressed gratitude to friends and family members who expressed concern and support during this period.
Furthermore, the palace asserted its intention to take legal action against individuals spreading false information about the royal family.
