A White Garment Church leader, Prophet Gabriel Evans, has give a to reply to Pastor David Ibiyeomi’s speech against ‘Cele’ churches.
WithinNigeria had reported that the Founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, expressed his strong aversion towards white garment churches due to his belief that they manipulate people’s destinies.
Ibiyeomie had said that ifindividuals were aware of the practices employed by such churches, they would not hold a favorable opinion of them.
He said; “Do you know why I hate white garment churches, people don’t know why I hate them. if you know what they do you will never like them.
“They can take your own surname and put it in a bottle of gin and make incantations. As they are doing that that’s how the boy will be drinking. Ask these ‘cele’ prophets, they will take someone’s name and put inside Kai Kai (local gin) and then read all those demonic psalms and the boy will look at them and say ‘Give me a bottle of schnapp’. The boy was not drinking before.”
However, Prophet Gabriel Evans, who noted in a video that he never intended to give a response to Ibiyeomie’s statements, said that Ibiyeomie as a renowned church leader isn’t supposed to utter such things from his mouth.
He said: ” The word he used….Pastor Ibiyeomie…”I hate”… shouldn’t be coming from you. I think you’re a GO of repute at your level and hearing your followers hear you used to the word “I hate”…I don’t think that is reasonable for a church leader to speak deregotarily about another denomination.
“Do we use what pentecost pastors do to adjudge that all pentecostal churches are frauds? Do we use that as yardstick?…..Have we ever used that to adjudge thr body of the pentecostal fellowship as a whole? If you fall victim to one or two individuals it doesn’t make you to condemn every individual and you don’t use the word hate.
“As close as Judas was to Jesus he still betrayed Jesus. It only means within every denomination we have the black sheep, even in your denomination there are black sheep. But for you to now come out and say I hate the white garment churches, do you know the meaning of hate?”
