- Vitalis Nwabuzor, one of the passengers who boarded an Air Peace flight from Abuja to Port Harcourt, was allegedly found in possession of money belonging to other passengers.

A passenger on Air Peace Abuja-Port Harcourt flight identified as Mr Vitalis Nwabuzor was recently caught stealing from another passenger’s bag.
According to the provided information, Nwabuzor purportedly confiscated a computer bag belonging to another passenger from the overhead luggage plane cabin, and additionally, took possession of the money enclosed in a brown envelope, which was originally placed inside the bag.
Subsequently, Nwabuzor altered the location of the aforementioned computer bag, relocating it to a different compartment, and subsequently transferred to an unoccupied seat situated at the rear of the aircraft.
The Suspect was one of the first few passengers to leave the aircraft, despite the announcement specifying disembarkation in a line-by-line manner, starting from the front of the aircraft.
Videos circulating online captured the moment when the suspect was eventually apprehended, and the money taken from him was recovered. Various currencies in different denominations were found on him.

Spokesperson of Air Peace, Stanley Olisa, disclosed that Nwabuzor was caught by the owner of the money who called the attention of the crew.
Olisa said,
“During the flight, Nwabuzor took another passenger’s computer bag from the overhead cabin, took the brown envelope containing the money (N1m), put the computer bag in another luggage compartment and moved to an empty seat at the back of the aircraft.
He was one of the first few to disembark despite the announcement of proper disembarkation sequence by the crew. He was eventually caught and the money retrieved from him. Different currencies in different denominations were found on him”.
The passenger was handed over to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) security operatives, who then planned to transfer him to the Police for further investigations.
The police later confirmed that they had released the passenger on bail and mentioned that the likelihood of prosecution is low, primarily because the owner of the money expressed reluctance in pursuing the matter further.
