Rumors of Kizz Daniel’s arrest by The Confederation of African Football (CAF) officials are spreading rapidly on social media.
Reportedly, he was nabbed in Ivory Coast on Thursday, October 12, 2023, following the seamless conclusion of the AFCON 2023 draw.

During the glitzy event for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2023 Draw on Thursday, October 12, where football royalty like Didier Drogba, Sadio Mane, Achraf Hakimi, and John Obi Mikel graced the stage as Draw Assistants, Kizz Daniel allegedly got caught in a sticky situation.

At the newly constructed Parc des Expositions in Abidjan, a star-studded lineup of African music heavyweights, including Yemi Alade and, reportedly, Kizz Daniel, was announced and were set to captivate both the live audience and viewers worldwide.

While Yemi Alade, who featured on the official competition song, was seen rocking the stage, there were no signs of Kizz Daniel in action.

Just days before the AFCON draw, Kizz Daniel had announced his arrival in Ivory Coast for a performance through his social media channels.

However, in a surprising twist, blogger Stella Dimokokorkus spilled the beans, claiming that Kizz Daniel had been detained in Ivory Coast on Thursday, October 12, 2023.

Stella claimed that the artiste received a substantial sum of one hundred and fifty thousand dollars for a performance but unexpectedly refused to take the stage. Instead, Kizz Daniel reportedly remained backstage.

It is said that he was subsequently apprehended by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) authorities and is presently in detention.

Stella Dimokokorkus wrote,

“Crooner Kizz Daniel has been arrested in Ivory coast after he collected the sum of One hundred and fifty thousand dollars but refused to come on stage to perform and stayed put backstage on Thursday October 12, 2023..

“He was arrested by CAF and is presently in detention.”

Recall that in 2022, Daniel was arrested after he failed to perform at a gig,, the Summer Amplified Show, in Tanzania.

Daniel gave excuses for failing his thousands of expectant fans.

He said his flight failed to bring one of his bags which contained a gold chain he wished to wear while performing.
