Prophet defends self after failing prediction of Cameroon beating Nigeria 3-1

In the round of 16 clash between two African football giants, Nigeria and Cameroon, predictions and analyses were rampant from supporters of both sides. However, it was Prophet Abiri's bold prediction favoring his home country, Cameroon, over the Super Eagles that stole the spotlight. Yet, his prophecy proved to be off the mark, sparking backlash. Now, he has stepped forward to defend his prediction.

  • Prophet Abiri, before the Super Eagles’ showdown with Cameroon in AFCON 2023, boldly forecasted victory for his native country, Cameroon, over Nigeria.
  • The outcome didn’t align with his prediction. Following the Super Eagles’ triumph over the Indomitable Lions, he faced criticism from Nigerians.

Cameroonian clergyman, Prophet Elijah Abiri, has risen to his own defense after his earlier prophecy, predicting a 3-1 victory for the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, fell short.

Before the match, Abiri confidently proclaimed, “Super Eagles of Nigeria pack your bags before going to the stadium because the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will win you 3-1”

However, in a spectacular showing, the Super Eagles flew into the quarterfinals with a commanding 2-0 triumph over Cameroon in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

The prophet faced a barrage of criticism from those who branded him a ‘false prophet’ after the match for his inaccurate prediction.

After the match, which didn’t play out according to his prediction, the prophet quoted Luke 4:24-27

“Truly I tell you,” he continued, “no prophet is accepted in his hometown. I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijah’s time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was a severe famine throughout the land.

“Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon. And there were many in Israel with leprosy[g] in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed—only Naaman the Syrian”.

Addressing the backlash stemming from his inaccurate prediction, the prophet went on to extend congratulations to the Super Eagles team for their victory, he wrote;

“When We Speak 🗣 They Insult Us, Fight It From Manifesting, Instead To Appreciation The Word They Received, They Instead Talk Us Down To Those Who Who Are Supposed Respond! They Instead Pray It Doesn’t Manifest So That They Can Call Us Names. It’s Really Funny How Some People This Days Like Negativity Than GoodNews, I Pray 🙏 The Lord Help Our Generation.

“When Prophetic🎤Instructions🧏‍♂️ Are Not Respected! That’s Always The Results! It’s A Piety😭How They See Us Too Small To Listen👂 To Us! Congratulations 🎊 🎈🎉 To The Super Eagle’s🦅Of Nigeria🇳🇬. Forever JESUS IS LORD”
