‘l was fed up’ – Woman who tore husband’s international passport opens up [VIDEO]

In the silence of a marriage, where words sometimes fail, actions become the language of the heart. Mrs. Favour Igiebor’s tearing of her husband’s passport was more than just a moment of frustration—, according to her, it was a cry from a soul that had long felt unheard, a desperate plea for her pain to be seen

  • Seething with rage, the woman reportedly tore her husband’s international passport to shreds right in the middle of the airport, under the watchful eyes of stunned onlookers.
  • The remnants of the Nigerian passport lay scattered on the floor, as the man scrambled to pick up the pieces after his wife stormed off.
  • Her outrageous act sparked a firestorm of criticism from Nigerians, which she defiantly responded to in a new video

A woman, identified as Mrs. Favour Igiebor, who was caught in a viral video ripping her husband’s passport to shreds, has stepped forward to claim that she had endured enough in her marriage and had to finally take matters into her own hands.

According to reports, the couple had just landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, when an explosive argument erupted between them.

In the footage, Mrs. Igiebor is heard taunting her husband with the words, “this is Nigeria,” as he desperately tried to salvage the torn pieces of his Nigerian passport. The couple, who had their children in tow, left the cause of their fiery clash shrouded in mystery.

Her bold and shocking actions ignited a wave of backlash from Nigerians on social media, who unleashed a torrent of criticism against her.

But Mrs. Igiebor wasn’t about to let the court of public opinion pass judgment without hearing her truth. In a defiant video response, she opened up about the years of sacrifice and silent suffering she had endured in her marriage.

According to her, this was not just a rash decision born out of anger but a necessary stand for her own dignity and self-worth. She made it clear that her years of loyalty and sacrifice couldn’t just be erased as if they were nothing, and that this dramatic act was a culmination of pain she could no longer bear.

Addressing those who had rushed to judgment, Mrs. Igiebor warned them not to be misled by a brief video clip, insisting that the situation was far more complex than it appeared. She urged people to dig deeper, to ask the tough questions about what could drive a woman to such a desperate act, rather than jumping to conclusions.

Her words;

“The issue has been going on for a very long time, I have just been dancing to the tune till I arrived in my motherland, Nigeria, and I did what I did.

“You have to ask what happened, don’t just look at the action alone, I am not a mad woman, who would just come and act like that. I have my reasons, I have gone through many things.

“When it gets to your neck, you have to act. I didn’t want to make him go through a lot of stress, that’s why I waited till we got to Nigeria to do it rather than Europe where I could have done it. Don’t make comments without knowing what happened. I have gone through a lot of family issues here and there.

“I cannot be suffering, I suffered with him, and just like that, they want my suffering to be chartered away just like that.

“Is it till when I die, will you people know this woman did not speak out? Actions speak louder than words, I gave him my action, to know I have been bearing it.”

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls earlier on Monday that the Nigeria Immigration Service had launched a probe into the incident.

The NIS noted that her actions could be a violation of Section 10(b) of the Immigration Act 2015 (as amended), which prohibits the willful destruction of Nigerian travel documents.

The act outlines specific penalties for such offenses.
