Though many people knew him mostly for being a rapper, he was also an actor.

We gathered some interesting things you need to know about the rapper, even though he has been gone for 22 years.

1. His initial name was Lesane Parish Crooks but his name was later changed to Tupac Amaru Shakur when he was just three-years-old. He was newly named after a South American revolutionary, Tupac Amaru Shakur. 7. According to the late Maya Angelou, a poet and civil rights activist, Tupac wept after she spoke with him during the set of the movie Poetic Justice.
