Reports reaching NAN reveal that a 15-year-old boy identified as Ernest has defiled a 4-year-old girl in Ebonyi state. The culprit was said to have been kept in charge of safe-keeping the victim, Jennifer Iteze and her siblings while her parents left to their different places of work.

It was during his watch that he allegedly abused Jennifer who reported to her father that the 15-year-old had inserted his genital in hers and she was feeling several pains as she tried urinating. Her dad, Sunday Iteze immediately rushed to see a physician at Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki who confirmed that she had been abused.

Accompanied by the physician, the case was reported to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development who raised the alarm on the growing case of abuse in the state.

The victim’s father, Sunday revealed that the case was reported to the police who later referred the matter to the Family Law Centre, Abakaliki.

He, however, regretted that the culprit was eventually released because his wife was not able to pay the sum of N4,000, which according to those there, was to be used for opening the case file.

Recall that a 13-year-old girl identified as Ochanya Ogbanje suffered a worst fate after being constantly abused by her uncle and his son for five years.
