It is no surprise that Nigerian celebrities always give their fans what to talk about. This year there was a lot that fans had to talk about. Was it Wizkid and his babymama drama? or Bobrisky and his daily dose of drama?
However, looking back at the stories that trended this year, many celebrities broke the internet but none did it as often as Davido.
The popular singer was everywhere, with the kind of publicity Davido ranked up this year, many would assume it resulted in bad press for the star, but for the father of two it was all success and more love from his fans.
Davido had us all talking about one thing or the other. From his girlfriend to his National Youth Service. We have compiled a list of times the star broke the internet with fascinating.
1) Private jet news:
Davido shocked Nigerians with the amazing news of his newly acquired private jet. The singer bought a $27m (N9,720,000,000) private jet.
Legit.ng had reported that he showed of documents of the private jet on his Instagram page. However, news was later released that the singer’s billionaire father had bought the jet, and he came back with a clap-back that said ‘what his father owns is his’.
2) Wizkid and Davido rekindled bond:
After months of long social media feud between Davido and Wizkid, the music duo gave their fans something to talk about when they performed on stage together at Davido’s concert.
Earlier before the stage reconciliation, the two also came out to perform on stage at Wizkid’s concert.
3) Davido buys Porsche for Chioma:
Davido gave fans something to talk about once again after he surprised his girlfriend Chioma with a N22m Porsche at her 23rd birthday party.
4) Davido stuns as groomsman at friend’s wedding:
The singer also surprised fans by rocking agbada as groomsman at his friend’s wedding ceremony. Davido is not a celebrity who rocks agbada often so many Nigerians were surprised to see him in one.
5) Davido performs at PDP presidential primaries:
During the Peoples Democratic Party primaries, Davido performed live at the National Convention in Port harcourt in Rivers state.
The talented singer arrived at Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, the venue of the national convention, where the party’s presidential candidate emerged for the 2019 general elections.
6) Davido at NYSC:
One of the hottest topics that trended this year was when Davido registered for the National Youth Service Corps. The singer showed off photos of himself rocking the service uniform.
Also when he arrived at the orientation camp, he turned the camp into a live concert to entertain fellow corps members.
7) AFRIMMA:
At this 2018 AFRIMMA (African Muzik Magazine Awards) Awards and Music Festival, the talented singer went home with the award for Best Male West Africa.
