Beauty Tips: Understanding your Skin

Biologically, skin is the outermost layer of the human and animal body. It is the natural body cover that protects and has a sense of touch.

Skin is that cover that is permanently on your body, this is the part of your body that is visible to other people. While you can change a bad clothe and shoe you can only take care of your skin. Bad or damaged skin is not presentable.

There are several types of skins, knowing the type of skin you have will help you understand how best to maintain your skin.

To understand your skin you have to first pay attention to your skin daily, you can compare your skin to the types that are mentioned below.

Normal Skin

This is the type of skin that is perfectly standard and well balanced.

Dry Skin

This type of skin lack sebum. Sebum is a thick oily substance that consists of fat, keratin and cellular debris secreted by the sebaceous glands of the skin. These skins are characterized by a lack of moisture and liquid. This type of skin needs to be regularly moisturized.

  

Oily Skin

This type of skin has high sebum. These skins are mostly oily.

Hybrid Skin

This is the type of skin that is a mixture of dry and oily skin. Some parts of the skin are oily while others are dry.

Now that you know your skin type, it is best we discuss some daily activities that can help you prevent your skin from disorder or damages.

Your skin care is dependent on how healthy your body system is, to adequately care for your skin you have to pay attention to your health.

Healthy Eating

Eating healthy is very good for the body system, there several diets that can help maintain your skin. Consume more vegetables, fruits, and proteinous food and less carbohydrate. People with oily skins should try as much as possible to avoid consumption of food rich in fat.

Good Hydration

Water is essential for the body system. Drinking plenty of water help eases blood circulation and also help to detoxify (removing of harmful substance from) the body. Proper hydration also reduces the risk of skin acne.

 

Moisturizing

This involves using a good body cream daily. A good body cream will help the skin maintain its texture. It is advisable to moisturize your skin twice daily, morning and night.

Exfoliation

This is the process of removing dead skin cells from the body. This process occur naturally for people below 30 years of age, but people above 30 need to do it themselves. It is advisable to scrub your skin at least twice in a month.

Some homemade items that can be used to exfoliate your skin are Coffee, honey, spa salt and brown sugar.

Adequate Rest

Adequate rest helps relax the nerve, it also helps the flow of blood in the body. A well-rested body will enhance the skin.

These are some of the type of skins and how you can maintain your skin and avoid skin disorder. Some skins are very sensitive so be watchful of the things you use on your skin and the effect they have. People that have sensitive skin need to be careful of the type of moisturizer they use and the type of scrubbing ingredients they use.
