Nigerian superstar singer, Davido, remembers his late uncle, Isiaka Adeleke, widely known in the political sphere as ‘Serubawon’, in a heartwarming post on the ‘Assurance’ crooner’s social media page.

Davido shared a photo of the late politician who passed away in 2017 in Osun State. In the post via Instagram, he maintained that he still believes that Adeleke’s successor, his younger brother, Senator Ademola Adeleke would become the governor of Osun.

“Love you UNC!! Sherubawon lives forever!! We down here fighting your legacy and every time they try to touch us! They miss! Because of this I know your still around! Imole de!”

Meanwhile, On March 22, 2019 the Osun state Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal nullified Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s victory at the September 2018 poll and declared Davido’s uncle, Adeleke winner of the election.

Oyetola and his party, APC, approached the Appeal Court in Abuja to overturn the ruling of the tribunal which nullified the governor’s victory. The Court reserved its judgments after Wednesday’s proceedings that lasted over five hours.

Davido is however hopeful of victory, saying Adeleke is about to become the governor of the state. “Your little brother, Ademola Adeleke is about to become governor of your dear state you gave your life for!! Adeleke power osun power!!” he added in his post.

The date of the Oyetola and Ademola’s judgement is to be communicated to the parties via hearing notices that will be served on their lawyers whenever the judgments are ready, the Appeal Court said.
