JUST IN: Makinde appoints Adefope as DG, Due Process Office

The Oyo state Due Process office is to be headed by Ms Tara Adefope.

This development followed her appointment by Governor Seyi Makinde in a June 6, 2019 letter signed by his Chief of staff, Mr Bisi Ilaka.

Adefope’s appointment, which takes immediate effect, was made known in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Taiwo Adisa, on Friday.
The government of Oyo State has named Ms. Tara Adefope as the Director General of Due Process Office.

The statement pointed to Adefope’s experience in providing corporate governance interventions to companies, regulators, and market intermediaries across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Prior to her appointment, the new DG has held various consulting roles and has remained passionate about public and private sector development.

The new DG, Due Process Office is a United Kingdom-trained lawyer, who holds LLB Law (Hons) Degree from the University of Leicester and MSc degree in Corporate Governance and Business Ethics from the Birkbeck University of London.

She began her career in the UK in a Governance Advisory firm and subsequently held other positions before her return to Nigeria where her career progressed within the Banking sector as she held various positions within the remit of Compliance.

She, thereafter, joined the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, where she led Corporate Governance activities in Nigeria and Ghana on the Africa Corporate Governance Programme.
