The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has disclosed reasons why he refused to have a female as his private secretary.

According to him, when a woman accuses a man of anything, everyone will accept her words as the gospel truth and noone would believe the man.

Speaking during the July Holy Ghost Service entitled: “Swimming in Glory: Born to be Great,” which held at the Redemption Camp on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Mowe, Ogun State on Friday night, the popular cleric warned young and old pastors to flee fleshly lust.

The advice may not be unconnected with the recent allegation of rape again the pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo by celebrity photographer, Bukola Dakolo.

Adeboye said: “I know you will say I am old fashioned, I agree. That is what they said when I said I don’t want female private secretary.

“When a woman accuses you (a man) that you have abused her, they will listen to her and not you.

“I am old fashioned but I was ordained in 1975 and I am still living. I have not said anything o.”

Adeboye, who is popularly called “Daddy G. O” by followers and admirers, began by saying that people have been asking him why he doesn’t talk on any national issue.

He explained that he was under authority of the national Christian bodies – the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), which are authorised to speak on their behalf.

“What they say that is what I will say, but I feel compelled to say something to those who are young and old in the Lord. Everything I am going to say is in the Bible.”

Talking to directly pastors and quoting from Mark 4 verse 27, Adeboye said there was nothing hidden that would not come to the open.

He said: “You have done something and you think it’s going to be covered, then throw away your Bible.

“Somebody said I am old-fashioned, I agree because Jesus is old-fashioned. The same cloth He was wearing in the old He is still wearing today. Nothing hidden.”
