Few of a woman’s life stages are as mythologized as pregnancy. Most ladies have long since stopped believing in fairy tales. What if, for example, your pregnancy was an accident? You’re not in a stable relationship with the baby’s father? Or even if you are, it turns out baby daddy is not charmed at the prospect of becoming a parent? This is how best to describe the situation top Nollywood actress, Bisi Ibidapo-Obe had found herself six years ago but things seem to be looking up for her now as she is expecting her second after having her first, Destiny Okikiola Dino-Melaye, according to Kemiashefonlovehaven.
Bisi Ibidapo-Obe, popularly known as Omo logbalogba, is a Nigerian actress and producer, popular for films like Èebúdolá tèmi, Olòrìre and Ìfé òtító 2. Born in Surulere, Lagos, the actress is a native of Ondo State. Bisi who has produced movies like “Oyin Ade,” “Omo Jesu” and “Igboran San,” made her production debut in 2004. The actress who came into limelight after the movie “Olabisi Omo Logbalogba,” was motivated into acting by the late Bimpe Adekola.
Not many will forget the drama that trailed the pregnancy of her first baby, which she had for controversial senator, Dino Melaye. Though Dino refused the paternity of the baby and demanded to have a DNA test to ascertain Bisi’s claims, the actress stood her grounds and said he was the father of her baby.
Recall that back then, she had claimed her relationship with Dino Melaye had been very brief and not planned to bring forth a baby but fate and circumstance had proved her wrong. According to her, the romance between them had heightened over time, they became closer than ever but somehow there was a dark cloud lurking in their stars. Eventually, when she told him she was pregnant for him, he refused the paternity of the child and she had insisted on a DNA test which he vehemently refused.
When Dino Melaye was contacted about the actress’ story, he denied ever getting her pregnant. He described her claim as “African Magic story” and any thought that he would be the father of her baby as “an expression of fiction”. After series of accusations, counter-accusations, and denials, Ms. Ibidapo-Obe gave birth to a baby girl at 9.a.m. on Friday at Reddington Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos, on November 30, 2012, but the real news, however, was the fact that the baby girl bore a striking resemblance to Melaye.
However, four years after, he acknowledged the kid as his own when he wished her a very happy birthday.
Well, fast-forward to 2019 and we have a pregnant Bisi, who is said to be expecting before the year runs out. Though she hasn’t opened up on who is the father of her unborn baby, sources revealed to Kemiashefonlovehaven that he is a London-based businessman who is married to two women. He is said to have met Bisi when he came to Nigeria to bury his mum. Though the 41-year-old pretty actress has been off the social scene for a while, she still manages to attend one or two social functions to unwind with friends.
“Bisi is a smart girl and knows what she wants from any affair. She refused to abort the first pregnancy despite the drama between her and Lola Alao, who was the one who introduced her to Dino. Bisi had dated many men who wanted to marry her but she never got pregnant and those men left her. So, the Dino’s pregnancy was actually God-answered prayer for her. The six-year break after Dino’s baby has also produced another pregnancy and she decided keeping it despite the fact that the man is married with kids. His wives must not know that an actress is expecting a baby for him in Nigeria,” sources revealed.
