University of Uyo (UniUyo) female students match out en-mass to protest after they were robbed for the second time in three days.
The female students of UniUyo match to protest for the school authority to provide adequate security in their hostels after a second robbery attack.
The female students living in the school’s hostel no longer feel safe after the series of robbery. According to a student, Joyce Jimm, the armed robbers came with P.O.S this time to rob students off their money.
The girls are now requesting adequate security and trained security guards and not the “old men and gatemen” they currently have.
This morning uniuyo’s hostel was robbed again after we were robbed 3days ago.This time, they came with POS to robbed us of our money and the girl the stabbed the last time died this morning. We decided to protest this morning,we need security and not old men and Gatemen.Uniuyo is not safe again.

According to Joyce, during the last robbery, a student was stabbed but unfortunately died, Thursday morning. The sad students stood in from of the management complex chanting;
We need security
The school authority is yet to comment or issue an official statement.
