The governor was also quoted to have directed the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to immediately issue letters of promotion to the affected officers.

The governor said, “You should also see it as a higher responsibility and reciprocate the gesture by complementing the Administration’s resolve to restore the Education sector to its pride of place amongst the comity of states, in line with the Building Our Future Together Agenda of the present administration.”

Meanwhile, the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS) has commended the state government for hearkening to their passionate appeal over the approval and release of promotion for its members.

The State chairman of ASUSS, Comrade Akeem Lasisi, said the prompt response of the present administration to their plight had distinguished it as a “people’s government”.

He said, “For us in ASUSS, this singular act of honour has distinguished the government as a peoples government. By this commendable act, the governor has written his name in the hearts of both teaching and non – teaching staff of Ogun state government. Teachers do not forget good deed, as well as bad ones.

“It is against this background that ASUSS expresses its profound gratitude to His Excellency and the government of Ogun State for this heart-warming act. The Governor has planted a seed which he will reap exceedingly well in years to come.”
