Senator Dino Melaye has said that he doesn’t have any plan to dump the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressive Congress (APC) saying governor Yahaya Bello must go.

Melaye who made this known to newsmen on Monday, following rumours making rounds that he may likely dump PDP for APC said there will be no fresh election.

The senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district at the upper chamber of the National Assembly some weeks ago rejected an offer from the party as Director-General of the PDP Kogi State Governorship Campaign Council.

His words, “Let me state categorically that I have turned down the position of Director-General of the PDP Kogi State Governorship Campaign Council.

“I wish PDP all the best. When the truth is a casualty there is chaos.

There are rumours making rounds that the embattled senator allegedly approached the Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello of his intention to decamp from PDP to APC.

According to the source, the Chief of Staff to the governor, Chief Edward Onoja who is also the running mate to the governor, turned down the request.

It was gathered that Melaye who lost at the Election Tribunal wants to decamp to APC in other to retain his Senatorial seat as it may be difficult for him to win if a fresh election is conducted between him and Senator Smart Adeyemi.

However, in a brief statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Monday, Melaye said “Only compound fools and people with a degree in stupidity will leave PDP for APC.

His words, “All lies. I can not meet Yahaya Bello for any reason. And he must go. I will defeat smart any day but there will be no fresh election.

“Adeyemi is a confused man who allows desperation to becloud his thinking. He is a political obituary. He inhabits in a fool’s paradise, he is operating in political deficit.
