A huge crowd gathered in Ajegunle to escort Mad Melon’s body from the hospital to the mortuary after his sudden death.
The entertainment industry and Ajegunle city in Lagos were hit with a shocking news yesterday when the death of Mad Melon of Danfo Drivers singing group whose real name was Omeofa Oghene died.
Entertainers, residents, friends and family all came out to form the crowd who escorted Mad Melon’s body to the mortuary on Thursday morning following his death on Wednesday night, September 25.
The emotional video shows teary-eyed mourners who came out in a convoy of Danfo buses and bikes and many can be seen weeping.
Mourners could be seen hanging from doors and the roofs of the Danfo buses as they make a procession down the road with hundreds of people walking alongside the buses.
In a statement released by Danfo Drivers’ management, Mad Melon died on Wednesday night after a brief illness. It reads;
“The management of Mad Melon and Mountain Black aka Danfo Drivers wishes to announce to the general public the passing of Oghenemaro Emeofa aka Mad Melon.
“A true legend has fallen. May God grant his family, groupmate (Mountain Black), well-wishers and friends the fortitude to bear the loss.”
