After defiling 9-year-old in-law, Police arrest 60-year-old man

A 60-year-old man has been arrested by the Imo State Police Command for severally defiling a 9-year-old girl living with his family.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that after the father of the victim, Mr Chijioke Agu reported the ugly incident to the police, the suspect recognised as Alexander Madu from Umuoziri Inyishi in Ikeduru Council Area of the state was arrested on September 24.

While addressing journalists on the arrest of Mr. Madu, the State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Ladodo disclosed that the 9-year-old girl was defiled due to medical report from the Police Hospital in Owerri.

Reacting to the development, Mr. Agu who reported the case to the police revealed that the victim who is a relation of the wife living with them has been subjected to rape multiple times.

“Whenever the wife was away in the market, he did it until the victim opened up on the 23rd of September 2019” he said.

The State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Ladodo further said that the suspect will be arraigned in court after investigations have been concluded.

However, days after Hon. Kingsley Chima Uju was accused of rape by Nkeiruka Cynthia Kamalu, a mother of four which was denied by the lawmaker who in turn accused the Cynthia of fraud and child trafficking, the mother of four has released documents to back her allegations.

Ms Nkeiruka disclosed that she met the accused (Hon. Kingsley) at age of 13 when she was taken to her village from Lagos to Imo state by her parents.
