Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson, tweeted her way into trouble on Tuesday when she added her voice to the sexual harassment controversy rocking West African controversy.

A day after a BBC documentary exposed male lecturers in her home country and Ghana preying on students, the 33-year-old attempted to expand the argument with reference to the manner some women dress.

Hear her: “Sex for grades! Sex for jobs! Sex for everything in our part of the world! Your brains don’t matter here. It’s the covered parts they want, oh wait, these parts aren’t covered anymore… it’s free on social media. Will it ever change?”

No sooner had the Threesome actress published her posts than critics descended on her. She was accused of slut-shaming women and blaming victims of sexual harassment.

The mother of one was also reminded that she walked her way to fame by exposing her body in movies. Below are some of the things social media users have to say to the former girlfriend of Nigerian singer, Iyanya.

Yvonne Nelson. Youuu that ties towels in your movies and take them off is trying to slut shame?? Like you literally do things our society deems as "immoral"

You're here performing for the same men that wouldn't even batte an eye in calling you an "ashawo" in seconds.

Shame. https://t.co/T6voDu9OeN

I’m wondering how Yvonne Nelson thought his made sense cause If we are staying on topic, When Kemi went to see Boniface, she was fully clothed but he still harassed her. When is it gonna sink in that what you wear isn’t a determinant for assault & rape. This is victim blaming https://t.co/wh7tv2F0o8

See right here this girl is dressed.
I just wanted to show Yvonne nelson and others who feel it's cause of the way the students are dressed.#sexforgrades isn't about dressing, it's about power.
Victim blaming is inconsiderate and shameful.
