Tragedy struck the residents of CBA, Mambilla Barracks, Abuja early hours, Tuesday morning, after a pit bull dog which is owned by a Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) viciously attacked a 1-year-old boy.
Residents of the Barrack eventually came to the aid of the little boy.
The 1-year-old boy was reportedly playing outside, when he was sighted by the dog. The dog wasted no time in pouncing on the little boy, immediately going for the 1-year-old head. It would have been a different story if not for the residents of the barracks.
The dog began feasting on the 1-year-old boy, using its teeth to tear into the boys skull. Immediately residents of that area realized what was happening,
Residents rushed to help the 1-year-old boy, but their efforts seemed unsuccessful, as the dog refused to let go of the boys head.
Eventually, they were able to release the 1-year-old boy from the dogs grip by beating the dog to its death.
The boy was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he underwent a series of surgeries
