The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Muhammad Nami as Chairman of the board of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

The Upper Chamber also approved the appointment of Mr. Edward Adamu as the new Chairman of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

The confirmation of Nami, who is from the North Central geopolitical zone and other members of the FIRS’ board, came seven years after it was dissolved.

The resolution of the Senate followed the consideration and approval of the report of the Senator Solomon Adeola-led Senate Committee at plenary in Abuja.
