23 Nasarawa lawmakers test negative for Covid-19

Twenty-three members of the Nasarawa House of Assembly have tested negative for COVID-19.

The Assembly Committee chairman of information, Hon Mohammed Omadefu, stated this on Tuesday.

He said the State Task Force Committee on COVID- 19 has already notified Hon Mohammed Bello Isa he too is free of the virus after initial suspicions.

Omadefu congratulated all members of the Assembly who had to test following the death of Suleiman Adamu representing Nasarawa Central State Constituency of coronavirus on May 4.

There have been pressure on Nasarawa lawmakers to conduct Covid-19 test, after the death of Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu, a lawmaker representing Nasarawa central constituency who succumbed to the coronavirus pandemic.

Sulaiman was the first patient to die of Coronavirus complications in the north-central state since Nasarawa reported its index case of the disease.

The late lawmaker died before the result of his test came back positive.

Following his death, the Nasarawa state house of assembly complex was closed until it decontaminated.
