Hours after the Inspector General of Police sent a team of forensic experts to look into the death of Uwaila Omozuwa, one of the suspects linked to her rape and murder has been reportedly arrested by police officers attached to the Edo state police command.
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that the 22-year-old 100-level student of the University of Benin, Edo State was raped and killed while reading in a church in Benin city.
Chidi Nwabuzor, a spokesman of Edo Police Command, confirmed the arrest while speaking to newsmen.
He said the suspect was arrested after the deceased was rushed to the hospital and the fingerprint on the fire extinguisher she was attacked with was examined.
Nwabuzor said the suspect was apprehended after the Area Commander of Ikpoba Hill mobilized his men to take action.

In a related development,President of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has offered N1 million for information on killers of a female student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Vera Omozuwa.
The clergyman made the offer in a post on Twitter late Monday.
