The Department of State Security (DSS) in Osun State has released Olawale Bakare, popularly known as ‘Mandate’, who is the State Coordinator of #Revolutionnow Movement, and the remaining four protesters arrested last Wednesday, August 5.

According to their Lawyer, Alfred Adegoke, with this development, all the seven arrested protesters have now regained their freedom.

Bakare and six other protesters were arrested on Wednesday in Osogbo by the operatives of the Department of State Services, during a protest organised by the movement.

Three out of the protesters were however released last Thursday to their parents, while Bakare and others were held over their inability to bring a parent or guardian, who could stand for them.

Adegoke gave the names of those released on Thursday as; Samuel Olowolafe, Gift Erupke, and Martins Jesuloni.

Adegoke said, “All of them have been released including Olawale Bakare. Others were released to their parents or guardians.

“But I stood for Bakare because his parents died a long time ago. I read the bail bond and the main condition given was that the Bakare should not cause any trouble or act against public peace.

“Apart from the three of them that were released last Thursday, others in the custody of DSS have been released too.”
