Mr Eazi reveals why he turned down a multimillion-dollar record deal

Award-winning music artist, Mr Eazi (real name Oluwatosin Ajibade) who was offered a multi million-dollar ‘life changing’ record deal with a big label has revealed why he turned down the offer.

Speaking  with CNN, in a fresh interview, the talented singer, said he rejected the mouth-watering offer because of the need to be an industry player and one of the ways to be one, is by creating value’ which will eventually lead to profit

“I want to be an industry player not just for myself. I want to create value,” he said.

In other development, Mr. Eazi is launching a fund that will invest in Africa’s stars of the future.

He told CNN that the Africa Music Fund (AMF), is worth $20 million dollars. The lead investor is 88mph, a company that provides capital for African businesses.
Through the AMF, the 29-year-old artist from Nigeria says he wants to create a new funding model for the music business on the continent.
Mr. Eazi says one of his primary motivations for funding music is to provide financial support for artists to expand their catalog.
