Coming after BBC journalist, Kiki Mordi called out her friend and freelance journalist, Tosin Adeshokan for sexual misconduct, he has apologised for improper sexual conducts after some ladies took to Twitter to call him out.

Recall that Kiki Mordi, a Nigerian investigative journalist, had called out Adeshokan in a thread on the micro-blogging platform on Thursday, accusing him of pretending to be “asexual” just to take advantage of ladies.

She wrote:

“@theOluwatosin becoming friends with feminists and pretending to be asexual will not protect you from being called out as a predator,” she had written.

“You target young feminist women, make them believe you’re a sexual minority, they trust and protect you and you take advantage of that.

“People have spoken to you in private but now me I want you to lie to my face in public. You think you can use my friendship and the friendship of women like me to continue to get away with harassing young girls?”

She had also enjoined those who had been allegedly abused by the journalist in the past not to keep silent, adding that “action will be taken.”

The post had generated heated controversies on the platform, prompting some ladies to voice out their encounters with Adeshokan in the past.

Hajia Kòfóshì, a lady on the platform, had recounted how the journalist kissed him in 2014, despite claiming to be a sexual minority.

Sexual minority is an umbrella term used to describe people who belongs to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) community.

“Mine was circa 2014. @theOluwatosin would visit and tell me how good my writing was. Then out of the blue try to kiss me, knowing that I was in a relationship. He would act like he couldn’t control himself around me & it was somehow my fault. I remember telling my ex about it,” she wrote.

Reacting to the accusations in a statement, Adeshokan said he was deeply sorry for his actions, noting that no explanation would suffice to excuse his behaviour.

“I’m sorry to everyone, I truly am. There’s no explanation for what I’ve said and done but I’m honestly and truly sorry. I was idiotic and there’s no explanation. I swear I am sorry for my actions. I don’t know how to make this right but I want to. I really am sorry,” he wrote.

I’ve written and deleted and written statements on this because honestly, I don’t know what to say and how to prove that I’m genuinely sorry for everything I’ve been accused of.

But I’m honestly and truly sorry. This is too little and too late, but this will never happen again. pic.twitter.com/LpVu2PnZqA

“I’m honestly and truly sorry for everything I did. I rationalised it in my head by thinking it was sexual banter. It wasn’t. I made people uncomfortable. I’m honestly and truly sorry. I know this it too little too late and I was caught and this seems like I’m trying to save face.”
