Police arrest four suspects in Kaduna for robbing businessman in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspects in Kaduna State for allegedly robbing a businessman, Sontochukwu Uzoahukwu, of his valuables at his house on Iliya Street in the Bariga area of the state.

It was learnt that the suspects, Daniel Yaki, 19; Junior Michael, 22; Pius Eko, 18, and Samson Yunana, 22, fled to a village in the Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, after perpetrating the crime in Lagos State. Yaki was said to be the victim’s security guard.

While Uzoahukwu reported the case at the Bariga Police Division in order to recover the stolen valuables.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Thursday, said the command adopted intelligence and forensic strategies to trace the four suspects to Kaduna, where they were apprehended.

Adejobi said, “The Lagos State Police has again exhibited its forensic skills in combating crimes as its operatives traced some suspected armed robbers to Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State and arrested them with their weapons of operations.

“The four suspected robbers, armed with weapons, had on November 5, 2020, robbed one Mr Sontochukwu Uzoahukwu, on Iliya Street, Bariga, Lagos State, and fled.

“Further to the instruction of the state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, the Divisional Police Officer, Bariga division, adopted intelligence and forensic strategies to trace the suspects to the said village in Kaduna and apprehended the four of them.”

Adejobi stated that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba.
