Tragedy as a police vehicle chasing suspected internet fraudsters reportedly killed a nursing mother and her baby in a fatal accident in Warri, Delta state.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the tricycle they (nursing mother and her baby) boarded was allegedly rammed into by a police vehicle said to be chasing suspected internet fraudsters in Warri, Delta state today January 20.
It was further learnt that the tragic incident happened at PTI junction in Effurun. The officers are said to be attached to the Ebrumede police station.
When contacted, the police public relations officer in the state confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation has been launched into the incident.
However, a police van has been set ablazed by the irate youths and the road at which the accident occurred has been blocked in protest over the unfortunate incident.
