EFCC arrest two brothers over alleged ATM card fraud in Makurdi

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Makurdi Zonal Office have arrested two brothers over alleged ATM card fraud.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the brothers identified as Samson Adayi and Jacob Adayi were arrested on Wednesday, February 3.

This was contained in a statement released by the spokeperson of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The agency said in a statement that the pair specialize in stealing innocent citizens’ ATM cards which they use in transferring funds from the victims’ accounts to a POS terminal, for subsequent withdrawal.

According to EFCC, the suspects have numerous accounts that they use in carrying out their fraudulent activities.

Items recovered from them include; 29 ATM cards of different banks, bearing different names; N51,000.00 cash, Infinix X683 phone, two small Itel phone, one ear Bluetooth, one 9mobile and Airtel SIM cards.

The suspects will soon be charged to Court as soon as investigation is concluded.
