For the family of Livinus Ozoemena and indeed the people of Ukehe community, Igbo-Etiti local government area of Enugu state, the sudden disappeance of one of their town men was a mystery yet to be unravelled.
The missing of Mr. Amaechi Innocent Nwaodo was indeed one of the traumatic experiences they are yet to come over.
Narrating the incident to WITHIN NIGERIA, a cousin to the missing Nwaodo, Mr. Livinus Ozoemena explained that “my cousin Amaechi Innocent who hails from Umuofiagu village, Ukehe town, Igbo-Etiti local government area of Enugu state served his master in Nnewi, Anambra from 2011 to 2014.
” In 2016, he relocated to Uromi in Edo state, seeking for a better place to earn a decent life.”
Narrating further, Mr. Ozoemena told our reporter that ” since 2016, nobody has seen or heard from him.”
Asked what he suspected could have led to his sudden missing, Mr. said that ” he departed Nigeria for Libya in 2016, with the intention of crossing to Europe.

His goal was to migrate to Europe via Libya, a route known for its dangers and uncertainty.”
Asked if the family has reported the incident to the security outfits, Mr. Ozoemena stated that “we are yet to officially report the matter to the police but just want to raise the alert so that anybody who has come across him should know that his family is looking for him.”
On what he thought could have happened to him, the visibly traumatized cousin said that ” we are thinking that he might have been struck with madness or serious sickness on his way to Libya. That could have been the reason he could not come back again. We have contacted his elder brother who is already to know if he had reached there successfully but brother told us that he has not seen him.”
Asked why it took them so long before they raised his missing alert, the cousin explained that they thought he has reached Europe safely but didn’t want to speak to them.
” It was when his elder brother told us that he didn’t see him that we knew that he is already missing. We are appealing to the general public who has the information that could lead to his recovery to report to the nearest police station or call+19736399851, +60109126845 or +2348039341318.”
