How To Apply For JAMB Direct Entry 2026

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board announced on Monday, March 2, the start of the registration process for 2026 Direct Entry admissions to postsecondary institutions across the country. 


According to the board, the sale of Direct Entry application paperwork has begun nationally.

The board urged qualified candidates to begin their registration process as soon as possible and to rigorously follow the established standards.

It further disclosed that the registration exercise is scheduled to run for several weeks, after which the portal will be closed in preparation for the next phase of the admission process.

However, direct entry is designed for candidates who possess advanced qualifications such as diplomas, NCE, IJMB, or equivalent certificates and wish to secure admission directly into the second year of university programs without sitting for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

How to apply for JAMB Direct Entry 2026

Applicants MUST have a National Identification Number (NIN) to generate a profile code by sending his or her 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 via SMS

Applicants MUST use the profile code to create a JAMB profile on the official JAMB portal (www.jamb.gov.ng)

Applicants MUST buy the Direct Entry e-PIN (#5700) from authorized banks, online platforms, or post offices

Applicants MUST register at a JAMB state or zonal office, not at CBT centers

Applicants MUST bring original and photocopies of O’Level and A’Level certificates, ND/NCE/HND transcripts, birth certificates, and local government identification certificates

Applicants MUST select up to four institutions and courses that are related to uploaded credentials

Applicants MUST provide fingerprints and a passport photograph for biometric capture

Applicants MUST collect registration slips after successful registration and print the acknowledgement slip

Applicants MUST ensure that he or she meets the eligibility criteria, including having relevant qualifications like A’Level, ND, HND, or NCE, and O’Level credits.
