Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation and lawyer had declared that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is unfit to win the 2023 election.

FFK in a letter dated June 25 titled ‘An open letter to Jagaban’ said the former Lagos Governor would not succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 because he has been “used”.

The former Aviation Minister who is currently one of the campaign spokespersons of the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) warned Tinubu in the open letter against imposing himself on Nigerians.

He stressed that presidency can only be given by God.

He said, “You dreamed of being Vice President in 2015 and you failed. You are dreaming of being President in 2023 and you will fail. In all your plans what you failed to appreciate is that God alone rules in the affairs of men”.

While giving reason why the Asiwaju of Lagos would not be Nigerian’s president in 2023, Fani-Kayode said Tinubu “refused to acknowledge or accept the fact that the Presidency of Nigeria can only be given by God and He gives it to whom He deems fit by prophecy and divine decree”.

Recall that Fani-Kayode, who a staunch critic of the APC and the President Buhari government, on September 16, 2021, dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and joined the APC

Before the APC presidential election, which was concluded on June 8, 2022, Fani-Kayode projected Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State as the best candidate to win the 2023 election.

The APC chieftain, who had prior to the primary election which produced Tinubu as APC candidate accused the ruling party of plotting to islamize the country, said in an interview on August 18, 2022 that he was only against the APC because he was in the opposition PDP.

After the emergence of Tinubu as the party’s candidate, Fani-Kayode defended the choice of Kashim Shettima as the vice presidential candidate of the APC amid outcry against fielding Muslim-Muslim ticket.

According to him, the former Borno State Governor had built more churches in the State than any other governor before him.
