“Why I stopped going to church” – BBNaija Phyna reveals

• Phyna revealed that she stopped attending church services because of some of the Pope’s reforms, which isn’t in accordance to her beliefs
• Speaking in the recent episode of her podcast, Phyna particularly highlighted that the Pope’s recent approval for Catholic priests to “bless” same-sex marriage made her totally withdraw from everything that has to do with religion.

Former Big Brother Naija contestant, Phyna, recently opened up about her decision to stop attending church due to the reforms implemented by the Pope.

The reality TV star expressed her disappointment with the changes made by the religious leader, which she believes have strayed away from the traditional values she grew up with.

In the latest episode of her podcast, ‘spill with Phyna‘, the actress revealed how the Pope’s reforms, including his views on social issues , have led to her disillusionment with the organized religion, even though she was a full Catholic church member while growing up.

She was especially offended by the Pope’s recent declaration that Catholic priests might now “bless” same-sex unions.

In Phyna’s words:

“I stopped going to Church. Initially, I was Catholic; that was my Church growing up, but things come dey go on. Pope don actually pass different kinds of things then wey no really sit right with me but this recent one of man and man fit come marry for not just any Church but Catholic Church, I just tell myself say no need”.

In another story, Phyna reveals Why she want to identify as a man .

Phyna said though she is a woman physically, mentally she identifies as a man because of societal stereotypes against women.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Big Friday Show with Tacha on Cool FM Nigeria, Phyna recalled her recent social media feud with Davido. She said:

“I am a woman but most of the time, I want to identify as a man. In my next world, I want to be a man.

“I am a woman physically but I can identify as a man because most times they just try to talk down on you because you are a woman. And personally, when you do something to me that I don’t like, no matter who you are, I will call you out. For example, what happened between me and David [Davido] when he said he didn’t know me. Everybody said, ‘Phyna, you should have taken the opportunity to introduce yourself.’ No! Because he is David (Davido) doesn’t mean I have to kiss arse.”
