Nigerian music star Adekunle Kosoko aka Adekunle Gold is clearing the air and clapping back at unfounded health claims circulating on social media.
It all started when a user on X, formerly known as Twitter, confidently claimed the singer had undergone a bone marrow transplant. He stated:
“Yes he is but he has done that bone marrow transplant so I don’t think it affects him that much now.”
But AG Baby wasn’t having it.
Quoting the claim, Adekunle Gold wrote:
“It’s how you people say things you don’t know with so much confidence 😂. No I haven’t done bone marrow transplant.”
His response, laced with humour and a bit of disbelief has began trending.
The speculation may have stemmed from the singer’s previous openness about living with sickle cell anemia, a condition he detailed in his emotional 2022 single “5 Star.” While many admired his courage and vulnerability, it also opened the door to assumptions about his treatment journey. Hours later, screenshots of credit alerts started flooding the timeline, with several lucky recipients confirming they had received ₦250,000 each from the singer.
The plot twist was Adekunle Gold took a jab at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), tweeting that students from the school shouldn’t bother submitting their First Class certificates. This may be due to a 2015 experience he had in the school.
Recall in 2015, Adekunle Gold performed at OAU with limited songs, mainly repeating “Sade” amid tech issues. Unhappy students allegedly booed him, stormed his hotel, manhandled, and seized ₦150k of his ₦300k fee.
