Gunmen kidnap man, burn his car in Imo

A yet-to-be identified man has been kidnapped and his car set ablaze in Akokwa Town in Ideato-North Local Government Area of Imo state.

It was gathered that the incident happened at the popular Ohaegiri junction, around 12:54 pm on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

According to an eyewitness, the suspected kidnappers dragged the man out of his Lexus 350 before setting it ablaze.

The unknown gunmen then forced the driver into their own getaway vehicle and drove away, continuously shooting in the air.

“They shot severally at the vehicle and it caught fire. They dragged the driver out of the vehicle and drove away and continuously shooting in the air. Everybody in the junction closed shops and ran away back to their homes for safety.” the witness explained.

A video which has gone viral showed the attacked car burning by the roadside while motorcycle operators moved freely as if nothing happened in the area.
