Newly recruited Police constable crushed to death on first official duty during stop-and-search in Jigawa

Tragedy struck in Jigawa state on Thursday, January 19, when a newly recruited Constable reportedly died while on duty.

The Police Officer, Ibrahim Usman, who was attached to the Jigawa Police command, was said to have been hit and killed on the spot by a vehicle, on his first day at work.

An Eye-witness said the incident occurred during a stop and search patrol duty.

It is not clear for now if the driver responsible for his death, has been arrested.

In other news, The spokesperson of the Nigerian Police Force, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has condemned the trending clip of a Nigerian man giving a toddler marijuana to smoke.

The video which made the rounds on social media on Monday, January 9, captured the man holding the baby in his arms, pushing the lit joint into her mouth intermittently after grabbing a puff.
