Adebiyi Isreal, a man from Ekiti state in Nigeria, has aimed at breaking the world record for the individual with the longest film-watching hours.
Recently, Adebiyi, a 500L law student at Ekiti State University, shared his ambitious plan and submitted an application to the Guinness World Records, expressing his intention to create history.
Taking to Twitter, Adebiyi announced his intention and shared a screenshot of the email he received from the Guinness World Records, confirming the acceptance of his application.
The email approved his application under the category of “longest marathon watching films/movies (cinema).”
Overwhelmed with joy by the positive response, Adebiyi couldn’t contain his excitement and shared the news with his fellow Nigerians on Twitter.

The current record for the longest duration spent watching films is held by Suresh Joachim, a man from Sri Lanka who accomplished this feat in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2015. Suresh devoted an astounding 121 hours and 18 minutes to watching movies, setting a benchmark that Adebiyi aims to surpass.
The anticipation surrounding Adebiyi’s attempt to break the record is growing, as people eagerly await his journey towards making history. As he prepares to undertake this challenging feat of watching films for over 121 hours, it remains to be seen how he will manage the physical and mental endurance required to surpass the current record.
