Nigerian lady face backlash for defending yahoo boys
  • Nigerian lady Demi expresses support for cyber fraudsters, commonly known as “Yahoo boys.”
  • Demi’s tweets suggest that these fraudsters recognize societal constructs used by the elite to control the masses, while most realize this later in life, around 35.
  • Backlash ensues as critics accuse Demi of endorsing criminal behavior.

A Nigerian lady identified as Demi, has ignited a storm of controversy with her recent social media posts expressing support for “Yahoo boys.”

In a series of tweets, Demi defended these individuals, claiming that they grasp the idea that morality and legality are societal constructs wielded by the powerful to maintain control over the masses.

Demi, who identifies as a radical feminist, argued that these “Yahoo boys” have recognized that concepts of morality and legality have historically been manipulated by those in authority to further their interests and suppress the population.

She contended that the youth often fail to comprehend this reality until much later in life, typically around the age of 35, when they find themselves still job hunting and living in modest apartments.

“I like yahoo boys because they realized quite early that morality and legality are both constructs of the powerful to be interpreted by the powerful. Many of you don’t realize this until you’re 35 and still writing CVs from your apartment in Abule oja.

Slavery was once legal and Moral. Alcohol was once illegal. Cocaine used to be legally sold in coke beverages. Make of that what you will.

Frame this tweet because when the night is darkest and the sunrise is a forgotten memory, you will need it to enter a new realm of consciousness,” she tweeted.

Netizens Reactions…

@rotilaw said; “Illegal construct! All well and good. Hope you retain this very open and urbane view when you or your loved ones have an upfront and close encounter with this “construct”

@ebex21 said; “Who is a yahoo boy, what is Internet fraud and what is stealing and corruption? Don’t come and give us cynical motivation just to justify what you do. Keep your fraud to yourself.”

@BlackBird_S70 said; “I bet you’ll be indifferent if you get vio__lated. Because the desire to seek for justice would be an artificial moral contruct. Ode buruku.”

@AnthonyKvngsman said; “Well going by this ideology, anything and everything goes then. Rituals, armed robbery, human trafficking, organ harvesting, forced prostitution, drug trafficking, the whole works. Am I correct? Or did I miss something? 🤔”

@EseDevlin said; “Let’s say we all do fraud, where does that lead us? What happens when everyone is a fraudster? In short, let’s scrap all laws entirely from society. what happens?”
