- Senator Natasha Akpoti erupted in a fiery showdown during yesterday’s plenary session, fearlessly squaring off with Senate President Godswill Akpabio over alleged brazen bias and unjust treatment.
- While the full backstory of the explosive clash remained shrouded in mystery, Natasha, in new interview, peeled back the layers to expose the raw truth behind the stormy face-off.
The embattled lawmaker representing Kogi Central, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has revealed the dark undercurrents she has been navigating within the Senate, claimed she has been going through a lot.
This revelation comes on the heels of her explosive clash with Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Thursday’s plenary session, where a seating arrangement ignited a fiery confrontation that exposed deeper tensions.
In a tell-all phone conversation with the Brekete Family on Friday, February 21, hosted by Ahmed Isah, widely known as the “Ordinary President,” Natasha explained what really transpired.
She disclosed that long before the public showdown, her privileges had been systematically stripped away. According to her, she was deliberately sidelined from international engagements she had always been part of, all because she dared to compare the Senate’s decision-making process to a chaotic nightclub last year.
Addressing the narrative that she disrespected Akpabio by interrupting him, Natasha vehemently rejected the claim. She insisted she did not speak out of turn but merely invoked Order 10, an order of privilege, while he read out her suspension.
Her words;
“My attention was drawn that you were actually speaking about the issue on your program today, so thank you so much for your concern.
“I have been going through a lot and I have remained quiet because I didn’t want to be interpreted wrongly. I didn’t want any lawsuit against me.
“I just wanted to be given the chance to work. A lot of my previleges have been denied. I have been pulled out of many international activities that I have been part of since that whole night club incident that happened last year.
“Infact, there was even a United Nations event that I was supposed to attend which I was nominated for but my name was struck out. That they would not promote me in any event internationally.
“So every event that I have been going to since last year has been self sponsored.”
“I have been going through a lot,”. She added.
“Yesterday, I didn’t speak out of order. He was reading my suspension and I had to invoke Order 10 which is an order of priviledge.”
