South-African Reverend Lefoko Mogotsi, who has dedicated over nine years to priesthood, recently announced his resignation in a heartfelt TikTok video.

Via an emotionally charged post, the reverend conveyed his difficult decision to step away from his vocation in order to prioritize his mental well-being.

In the video, Reverend Mogotsi candidly explained that he had been battling depression and anxiety for several years, and the pressures associated with his role as a priest had profoundly affected his overall health.

“After 9 years of being a priest, I am making the hardest decision of my life. I’ve decided to let go of my calling for the sake of my mental health. I am walking away. Judge me all you want.”

The reverend’s video deeply resonated with viewers, as he openly discussed the challenges he had encountered, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing personal well-being and taking a break from the demanding nature of his work.

The clergyman in a follow-up post also noted that he’s not a Roman Catholic Priest and has a wife and children.
